Get ready for an unforgettable experience preserving Black Western Heritage and celebrating agriculture, equine traditions, and community fellowship. The Prairie View Trail Ride Association (PVTRA) welcomes riders of all levels to join us on a multi-day trail ride from Hempstead to Downtown Houston, culminating in the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Parade!
Before participating, please ensure you have completed all necessary forms and reviewed the official rules and guidelines.
Completed forms must be submitted by Tuesday, 2/25/25. Please reach out to info@pvtra.org with any questions about the forms.
All participating horses must meet the minimum body condition standards as recommended by the PVTRA veterinarian committee. If a horse is deemed unfit (below the acceptable condition score), it will not be allowed on the ride.

Our journey begins in Hempstead on February 22, 2025 and continues daily through scenic back roads until we reach Houston’s Memorial Park on February 28. We conclude with the Downtown Parade on March 1. See the map below for key rest stops and campsites.
